State Senator Kyle Walker is working to bolster our economy, bring jobs to our region and improve quality of life for all residents. He’s committed to ensuring individuals, families
and businesses in Senate District 31 thrive!

Fiscally Responsible, Commonsense Leader

Kyle Walker believes in holding the line on spending and keeping taxes low for Hoosier families and businesses.

In the Senate, Kyle supported a $1.1 billion income tax cut for Hoosiers, which – when fully implemented – will be tied for the lowest income tax rate in the country.

Kyle also supported Indiana’s balanced, fiscally responsible budget that pays down debt and invests in key priorities like infrastructure, public safety, education and expanding school choice for families.

Strengthening Public Safety

Kyle has emerged as a leader focused on reducing violent crime and improving public safety in Central Indiana.

In 2022, he authored legislation to strengthen electronic monitoring of offenders. These stricter standards and tighter monitoring will help ensure offenders can’t go on to commit additional crimes. He also co-authored the Marion County Crime Reduction Pilot Program to encourage law enforcement collaboration to tackle violent crime in the region.

In 2021, Kyle sponsored legislation to expand a successful, innovative effort led by the Fishers Police Department and IMPD to trace guns used to commit violent crimes across the region and bring violent criminals to justice.

Kyle also co-sponsored the landmark, bipartisan law enforcement reform package to improve transparency and accountability in policing, and to provide resources, training and support for police officers.

Additionally, Kyle authored bipartisan legislation in 2022 to protect the identities of child crime victims and to improve collaboration and response time for our EMS system.

Accelerating Economic Development,
Job Growth and Entrepreneurship

Kyle is a small business owner who knows that it’s Indiana’s entrepreneurs and businesses that create jobs, not the government. Kyle is passionate about accelerating economic development in our region and making it easier to start and grow a business in Indiana.

In 2022, Kyle authored legislation to help Indiana and local communities attract sports, convention and tourism events which generate significant revenue, drive economic development and bring visitors to the Hoosier State.

Kyle also secured funding in the state budget to support technology, innovation and entrepreneurial efforts at the Indiana Internet of Things (IoT) Lab based in Fishers, which will be used to expand programming and development of IoT Labs across the state.

Additionally, he authored legislation to help local communities leverage private investment for infrastructure projects, allowing for innovative public-private partnerships to improve roads and bridges.

Improving Education and
Supporting Hoosier Families

Kyle believes every child deserves access to a world-class education. In the Senate, he supported the two-year state budget that makes historic investments in K-12 education and expands school choice to support Hoosier families.

Kyle also spearheaded bipartisan legislation in 2022 to support Hoosier foster youth and families. His legislation created the Insuring Foster Youth Fund to help cover costs of driver instruction and insurance, removing barriers so that these young adults can obtain a driver’s license and successfully enter society.
